This week, you should begin doing the following things on a regular basis:
And, as always, continue:
- Choose a member of your family and make a special effort to strengthen your relationship with that family member by showing love through your actions . Refrain from judging, criticizing, or speaking unkindly, and watch for positive qualities in that family member . Write notes of encouragement, pray for this family member, find ways to be helpful, and verbally express your love. Perform acts of service for this family member as well.
- Every day for two weeks notice the worthwhile qualities and attributes of others . Acknowledge them verbally or in writing.
- As you notice the worthwhile attributes of others, record in your journal the quiet acts of service that they perform.
- Additionally, you need to help plan your family’s menus, obtain the food, and prepare part of the meals for two weeks. This can be done anytime throughout the next four weeks, but you should begin now.
And, as always, continue:
- Living within your budget
- Paying a full tithe
- Praying daily
- Keeping the standards outlined in For the Strength of Youth
- Following a regular pattern of scripture study (see also the readings section)
- Working on your ten hour projects
